Fantasy Faire 2023 ~ The Quest

• The Quest has begun! Read the backstory HERE.
• You will need a hud to participate in the hunt. Purchase your Quest Hud from the RFL kiosk at any official landing point. The Regular Hud can be purchased for a L$250 donation. Read the instructions, attach your hud and your helper and you're ready to Quest.

• The Deluxe Hud for L$350 includes everything from the regular hud box as well as complete outfits for male and female hunters made by Belle Epoque.
• All L$ paid for the Quest Hud is donated to Relay for Life. The mountain of prizes for those who successfully complete the Quest is amazing!
• The Quest is challenging and does take some time. There are many participants throughout the Fairelands who might help you if you get stuck. Look for those who have a phoenix perched on their shoulder. Part 2 will be opening soon. 

• You start your journey by finding the Bard Queen, who will explain the purpose of your mission and tell you how to make your assistant animal visible. Good luck!

Fantasy Faire 2023 ~ Forest Nymph

• Sometimes nature spirits are not quite what you might expect. Case in point: the Forest Nymph which resulted from the merging of seed from the tail of a Fallen Comet and the spirit of the forest. 

• You'll find everything you need to transform to your vision of both earth-based and celestial life by visiting the Aii & Ego shop in Szystrum Synod @ Fantasy Faire. Almost everything from Aii & Ego is unisex.
• With tattoos in celestial configurations and leaves growing from my body and springing from my hair, I not only feel connected to the earth but to the stars as well.

Fantasy Faire 2023 ~ Encounter @ Sipala

I was walking along the path in Sipala and heard a familiar voice. It was Shahara, the dragon whom I have known for years. She used to provide the muscle power to keep the Fairechylde sailing through the Fantasy Faire skies and was quite the party animal for many years, but like myself, she's matured. She had hatchlings last year and is quite busy keeping four young dragonlings fed and out of trouble. 

And therein lay the problem. Someone had found a dragon egg and left it near Shahara's pond, assuming it belonged to her. With her four youngsters to care for, she really didn't have time to dedicate to hatching an egg. She asked if I'd be willing to help. 

Well, I don't know much about dragonlings, but I've been working with children for 150 odd years and I figured it couldn't be much different. A young one needs warmth, attention, food once it hatches and someone to love it. I could do that, at least until we found the mother dragon, so Shahara left the egg in my care.

I stayed close to Shahara's pond, turning the egg frequently and telling it stories. At night I curled around it to keep it warm and grew quite attached to it.

When the egg cracked open the most wonderful little hatchling crawled out. He started peeping loudly and a few moments later a very worried mother dragon appeared. She had been hunting everywhere for her egg but hadn't smelled it because of its proximity to Shahara's nest. I explained to her what had happened, and she gratefully took her hatchling and flew home with him.

He comes to visit me occasionally. It's nice having a dragon grandchild! He's definitely the smartest and most beautiful little dragon imaginable!

It's like my mother always said, " Friends come in all sizes. Don't be afraid to help others, it will prove to be a blessing for all".

Fantasy Faire 2023 ~ Junction

• If you don't know where to start (and believe me, with 22 Regions to choose from at Fantasy Faire it isn't easy to decide!), it is tradition to start in Fairelands Junction.

• Close to the landing point you can join the Fantasy Faire Fans group and pick up a HUD that will allow you to teleport easily from region to region. You can walk or fly from region to region, of course, but most folks find the teleport hud to be a godsend after a few hours of walking.
• At Junction you will find portals representing the various regions. See a picture that looks intriguing? Touch it and you will find yourself whisked there immediately.

• Take the path to the south and find yourself on the winding ice bridges between the Worldling displays, surrounded by crystals holding Memorial Candles to illuminate the darkness in memory of those who have fought the battle against Cancer. 
• Donate to RFL in memory of someone special by purchasing a candle for L$100. The candles will light the Memorial area for the duration of the Faire and then will be returned to you.

Fantasy Faire Opening Day

The Fairelands rose from the mists without a hitch on opening day. 

Avatars from all over the RL world streamed in to enjoy 22 regions and 350 unbelievable shopping experiences in this 15th annual event in Second Life.

One cause brings us together!! The Hope, the Love! Relay For Life!

Fantasy Faire Minister and DJ, Zander Greene, gave a Musical Tour of the Fairelands with evocative tunes aboard the Fairechylde, the official Faire Party Barge, while many of the FF Ministers and FF Creators relaxed for the first time in weeks, knowing that this 15th year promises to be the most amazing of all.

April @ Designer Showcase brings unexpected pleasures, like this outfit from BlackBird Lace which can not only take you to the nearest club for an evening of dancing, but can fit right into the space scene @ Sci-Fi Con. 

I took my pictures in the Hydroponic dome, an animated display next to one of the dancefloors where awesome djs donate their time and talent to help raise L$ for the American Cancer Society through Relay for Life. 

EXCLUSIVE Kailani outfit comes with dress and chained knee boots and a hud holding 30 textures. Just changing the colors can totally change the look of the outfit as shown here with the white vs neon blue print.
