Fantasy Faire is scheduled to open Thursday. The most elaborate and, for many of us, most enjoyable event of the year will open its doors to the public. Members of the Creators group have been working for over a year to cram as much beauty, music, literature, dancing, fellowship and, yes, SHOPPING into 10 days as is possible.
Fantasy Faire is unique in SL in that it is for those who love the whimsical, the bazaar, the strange, the inhuman aspects of our world. Where else will you see Elves, Faeries, Vampires, Mermaids, Tinies, Furries, Steam Punk Aficionados, Role Players and all sorts of other creatures from dream or nightmare working together?
The goal? To raise funds for Relay for Life to bring an end to an enemy we all have in common: cancer. You'll hear me talk more of that part of the process in the next 10 days.
For now, here's how you get started:
1. Dress for travel. Leave the high prim and highly scripted outfits and hair at home.
2. Plan to take your time. There are 15 sims. You can't do it all in a couple hours!
3. Be open to unexpected events and possible delays. The builders do their best to make your visit lag free and intuitive, but you know how SL can be, particularly when there are a lot of people on a sim. There will be a lot of people on the sims. Just accept it and look at all that neat stuff that you would have missed if you hurried by.
4.Check out the Fantasy Faire site HERE to see what is available at different sims and what entertainment is scheduled.
