Fantasy Faire ~ The Quest

One of the most popular activities at Fantasy Faire is the Quest. This event within an event takes questors all over Fantasy Faire in search of items to aid the Bard Queen in her efforts against the UnWeaver. This year's chapter is called The Bard Queen's Garden.

William and I are modeling this year's EXCLUSIVE outfits created by Bee Dumpling and SolasNaGealai for Silvan Moon Designs. Both outfits are included with the Deluxe Quest Hud for a donation of L$350 at any of the FF 2020 regional landing points. A Quest Hud without the outfits is available for a donation of L$250. You need to purchase the hud in order to do the quest, but if you are successful in completing it, you will receive goods that far exceed the cost of the hud! Purchase of the Hud is a 100% donation to Relay for Life.

Fantasy Faire benefits Relay for Life and the American Cancer Society in the virtual world of Second Life. Click HERE to go to the official page.

The man's outfit is a one piece mesh Jerkin, Shirt, Breeches and Boots, reminiscent of so many legends in which a simple man sets out to find something and comes home as a hero.

Fantasy Faire ~ LitFest

The Literacy Festival is an important component of Fantasy Faire 2020. So much of our Fantasy is founded in myth, legend and story that paying tribute to those roots is natural.
This year's LitFest is dedicated to Scheherazade, the character who brings together the collection of tales that make up the 1,001 Nights, and to the creators of those Tales, who are largely unknown. We'll be celebrating the anonymous creators behind these diverse works which shape the fantasy of Arabian, Persian, Indian and Chinese culture.

I attended a wonderful reading of the Poetry of Persia and India presented by
Aoife Lorefield and Catori Mistwalker ...

... who read poems Scherazade herself would have loved by Rumi, Hafiz, Tagore, and more.

The poetry reading was followed by a dance. People tend to think of those who promote literacy and story as serious and stodgy, but I know from long experience that those serious library folk know how to party!

Fantasy Faire Saturday

I had a very busy day at Fantasy Faire on Saturday. It started early in the morning with a ride on the Magic Bus. You may see this strange contraption traveling through the Fairelands, usually going at breakneck speed, running into buildings and occasionally crashing sim crossings and dumping all those aboard unceremoniously on their keisters. Chances are, those aboard are the builders and managers of Fantasy Faire and their minions letting off a little steam before going back to building, managing and minioning.

I visited Fairelands Junction which is the starting place for all things Fantasy Faire. You'll see huge panels representing the different regions. Touch a portal and >poof<, you'll be taken to the official landing point for that region. You can also pick up a teleport hud of your very own and join the Fantasy Faire group to keep up with Faire activities throughout the year. Walk up the river and take a look at the Worldlings displays. You may see some of those worlds become reality in future Faires.

After a day of exploring (read that: shopping) I ended the day dancing on a cloud @ the Fairechylde with a very handsome griffin. There's something about a mythical creature in leather, but I digress...
Do your own exploring @ Fantasy Faire. Support Relay for Life with your purchases from the special kiosks and meet the amazingly generous designers, builders and merchants who are represented among the 18 regions of the Faire.
Fantasy Faire continues through May 10. Click HERE to go to the official website.
  • I'm wearing a Goddess gown from Secrets of Gaia. It has delicate flower trim and beautiful textures and has coordinated jewelry, headdress and nails which you can see in the picture below. It also includes purple hair (not shown); there was so much in the box, I didn't notice the hair till after I had already taken the pictures. You can purchase the components as separate items, as a Complete Set or as part of the Triple Goddess Complete Collection.
  • My skin is the Fantasy Faire 2020 Special Edition of Jalyn from Soul. A matching male skin is also available.
  • In the upper picture I'm wearing a Delrose's Choker from Trinity Clothes

Fantasy Faire ~ FlyGearz

Fantasy Faire is famous for inclusive activities. When you visit Fantasy Faire 2020 you may find yourself in the middle of a flash mob, a Role Play or, in this case, inside a giant airship doing synchronized dances with a group of friendly folk in all sorts of costumes.

FlyGearz is lead by Jenna Dirval with DaveOSaurus as trusty sidekick and DJ.
Shows combine choreographed dance with a touch of theater and are totally inclusive.
One doesn't watch a FlyGearz performance, everyone is part of the show. The pictures are from Friday's FlyGearz @ Fantasy Faire.

If you've ever wondered what it would be like to be part of a dance troupe or even the star of a show, there will be another FlyGearz gathering * Wednesday @ 7 pm. Plan to arrive a few minutes early to give yourself time to rez and find an open dance pad.

There is so much more than just shopping @ Fantasy Faire 2020.
Join the fun though May 10. Support Second Life's  Relay for Life for the American Cancer Society while having a great time!
