The Happy Goth

I took these shots in the cemetery at Innesmouth, a year-round "Dark" region dedicated to author H.P. Lovecraft's mythos. Lovecraft's works were the forerunners of the modern horror genre, particularly tales dealing with alien and mutant lifeforms invading earth, so if you enjoy tentacled horror, you can thank him. Stephen King is just one of the authors who credit Lovecraft's works for their inspiration.

I live in the village next to the town, so I spend a lot of time in Innsmouth, which has monthly dances and weekly horror movies for the public.

Out of the Blue

I visited the New Kadath Lighthouse and Art Museum for a reading of The Little Ice Age by Brian Fagan sponsored by Seanchai Library. The reading room is cozy and welcoming and the views from the deck below the lighthouse itself are outstanding! 

I would recommend a visit to the lighthouse even if you aren't a history geek.

[QE] Gets Pretty!

[QE] Designs' contribution to this month's Pretty event are separates that work together to make you look... pretty everywhere you wear them.

 

One version offers prints and stripes in creams, muted golds and denim tones, the other includes darker blues with touches of bright gold and red. The distressed denim skirt comes in 12 shades. There are even coordinated shoes to finish off the look. Each collection is sold separately and works with the others.

I put the outfits through a workout while trying to take a picture of a rare bird. It took several days, but I finally got a good shot of it [shown below].

Designer Showcase May 5 ~ 25

It's getting hot out there! Thank goodness for that cute little summer top from KiB Designs*! It comes in 12 shades of two prints and will go with any of your jeans, shorts, or casual summer skirts. 

I paired it with lace inset Hippie Jeans from American Bizaar that I got at Designer Showcase a few years ago. The good news for you, if you missed them, is they're available now on MP. However, there are some cute tops from [AB] at this month's Designer Showcase.

The Polished Seaglass Jewelry * from Ghee coordinates beautifully with the tops and can be tweeked with the hud to expand the color choices.

FF 2021 One Last Look

Part of the magic of Fantasy Faire is that it is fleeting. Fantasy Faire 2021 will disappear into the mysts May 9. UPDATE: The Faire will remain open for shopping till May 12! Till then I will be spending as much time as I possibly can exploring and enjoying the magic and beauty of the Faire, but this will be my final blog about it.

FF 2021 One Thousand Paper Cranes

Ling Xiao Long, the home of this year's Literacy Festival at Fantasy Faire, is a magical world of paper and ink with spashes of bright red. 

Hua Long Dian Jing, is a Chinese proverb meaning “painting a dragon, dotting its eyes.” The proverb comes from a story about an artist who painted a dragon who came to life as soon as the eyes have been dotted. The design of this region brings this proverb to reality, manifesting strokes of ink brush into a 3D world.

The Literacy Festival brings the world of story, poetry and film to life in Second Life with a variety of presentations and writing experiences throughout the Faire.

• Wearing a wonderfully complex Kimono and Obi from Sakka's Studio *. The Kimono, undergarment and a couple of different Obis can be customized with color and texture huds. The shoes are the only thing simple about this look. They're nicely made straw Zoris for use with a flat foot
