First Krissmus

Remember that first Krissmus with your love? You had a tiny house and almost no money. 
The presents were all terribly romantic things like kitchen utensils and work boots, but it didn't matter. You thought the tree he built from the flats he saved from the trash at work was brilliant and he thought you were much prettier than any angel had a right to be.

The lights wouldn't stay in place on the tree, so he wrapped them around you instead and said you needed a star on your head. Then you kissed and it didn't matter that the house was too small or that you missed your mother. There will be many Krissmuses to follow, with bigger houses and fancier decorations, but you will never forget this one.
