Every winter we gasp in amazement as the dancers in the Nutcracker Suite ignore the laws of gravity and physics to bring us the story of toys coming to life on Christmas night. For many of us, it just isn't the holidays till we've seen the ballet.
We all know that it takes years of grueling practice to make those movements seem so effortless. At the end of the day, the ballerina ... or Sugar Plum faerie... heads home on the subway wearing something warm and comfortable.
