Welcome home, Fairelanders!

Fantasy Faire opened yesterday at 12 noon slt.
There were shouts of "Welcome Home" and the regions quickly filled with people streaming in to enjoy what many consider the quintessential event of the SL year.

Worldling - The Great Mother

It isn't unusual for those who have attended Faire in past years to tear up when they first arrive. Fantasy Faire is much more than just an event, it is a feeling, a dream and a promise that speaks to the heart of each creator and attendee.

Worldling - Lunara the Dream Keeper

If you are new to SL or haven't visited Fantasy Faire before, it is tradition to start in Fairelands Junction.
In Junction, teleporting arches give you a glimpse of the different regions and Worldlings are born. Worldlings are models submitted for consideration as future Faire regions. They're beautifully displayed at one end of Junction and can provide a quiet interlude for those who don't mind wandering through dark tunnels and coping with precarious wooden bridges.

If Junction is full or taking a long time to rez, I would suggest looking for your favorite store HERE or checking the different regions HERE to start out. Visiting the Junction will definitely be on your to do list, especially when the Quest begins (more about that later), but Teleport huds can be picked up at most of the main landing points all over the Fairelands, so walk, fly or ask a friend to tp you to wherever they're enjoying the Faire and have FUN!

Fantasy Faire ~ Getting There

Fantasy Faire opened yesterday at 12 noon slt. There were shouts of "Welcome Home" and the regions very quickly filled with people streaming in to enjoy what many consider the quintessential event of the SL year.
It isn't unusual for those who have attended Faire in past years to tear up when they first arrive. Fantasy Faire is much more than just an event, it is a feeling, a dream and a promise that speaks to the heart of each creator and attendee.

Welcome home, Fairelanders!

Seasoned Faire-goers know the drill: pick a region from those listed on the official WEBSITE. Teleport to the region you chose and find yourself surrounded by wonders! There are 18 distinct regions featuring every kind of atmosphere from primeval forest to industrial and from brightly colorful to foreboding darkness. More information about each region is HERE.

If you are new to SL or haven't visited Fantasy Faire before, it is tradition to start in Fairelands Junction. Here you'll find yourself on a bridge suspended between trees. In frames on either side of the bridge are portals to each of the regions. Touch a picture that looks interesting and be whisked away to explore that area.
Junction is also home to a candle-lit memorial to those who have been lost to cancer. Purchase a candle, type a short note in the form that will pop up on your screen and save it. Others will be able to click your candle and read the message. The candles will be sent to their owners at the end of the Faire.

A Night at the Club

There was a party @ Designer Showcase the other night. Three amazing women belted out jazz, blues and even a little country to an appreciative audience in a private club at the Designer Showcase location. The thing is, unless you are a member of the Designer Showcase group, you probably didn't hear about it.
I took today's blog pictures in the club after everybody else left.

Friday @ the Boom!

It's Friday ! We'll be partying on the Boom Beach tonight, so bring your pizza, bring your doughnuts (for those intrepid Aussies who sometimes join us before the crack of dawn), bring your liquid refreshment and your friends and get ready for 3 hours of fun and LIVE music! I staked out my spot early!

Friday Night

I'm writing today from the newly redecorated Boom Pony Basement, one of the most popular Live Music venues in SL. We've added a new Coffee and Smoke Shop overlooking the dancefloor for those who might prefer to chill and just listen to the music.

Some of the best singers in SL appear on Friday evenings at the Boom.
This week you can hear David Csiszer @ 6 pm SLT.
