Fantasy Faire ~ Getting There

• Fantasy Faire opened yesterday at 12 noon slt. There were shouts of "Welcome Home" and the regions very quickly filled with people streaming in to enjoy what many consider the quintessential event of the SL year.
• It isn't unusual for those who have attended Faire in past years to tear up when they first arrive. Fantasy Faire is much more than just an event, it is a feeling, a dream and a promise that speaks to the heart of each creator and attendee.

Welcome home, Fairelanders!

• Seasoned Faire-goers know the drill: pick a region from those listed on the official WEBSITE. Teleport to the region you chose and find yourself surrounded by wonders!  There are 18 distinct regions featuring every kind of atmosphere from primeval forest to industrial and from brightly colorful to foreboding darkness. More information about each region is HERE.

• If you are new to SL or haven't visited Fantasy Faire before, it is tradition to start in Fairelands Junction. Here you'll find yourself on a bridge suspended between trees. In frames on either side of the bridge are portals to each of the regions. Touch a picture that looks interesting and be whisked away to explore that area.
• Junction is also home to a candle-lit memorial to those who have been lost to cancer. Purchase a candle, type a short note in the form that will pop up on your screen and save it. Others will be able to click your candle and read the message. The candles will be sent to their owners at the end of the Faire.

Honeymoon

There's always a fuss over the wedding dress, but what about the Honeymoon outfit? 
This elegant little number from L.S.D.Couture should fill the bill nicely. Sexy La La is available at the Main Store in 8 pastel brocade colors, it's the perfect dress to wear dancing or romancing. You can purchase each color separately or in a fat pack for the body you use. Matching panties come with the dress or the panties are available separately. 

My EXCLUSIVE jewelry comes from Moondance Boutique @ Designer Showcase. I didn't want to overpower the dress, so I'm wearing the necklace, earrings and one ring from the full set, which includes bracelets and another ring. 
All pieces are hud driven for a variety of metals and stone colors.

Fantasy Faire ~ Day 14

Welcome to the Willows of Nienna

Willows weep into the waters of time poured out by Nienna, the Lady of Compassion, who rules this land, a place of rest where travelers come to find comfort in grief.
Here in her tranquil garden of tears, Nienna teaches the endurance of the spirit and the power of hope and time to heal.

Imagine an impressionistic landscape from Picasso's blue period and you can visualize the Willows of Nienna. One might think that the blue landscape would be oppressive, but it conveys a sense of peace. 

Wander among the willows and rest by the lily ponds... or better yet, go shopping! This sim offers several stores with unique items for landscaping and habitats, as well as clothing for all.

Fantasy Faire ~ Day 1

Today's blog is a continuation of Wednesday night's...

Start at the Junction. Take a deep breath; you'll be under water! Here you'll find portals to all the lands.

You'll see a couple of cute low-lag avatars to make your travels easier. One is free, the other is very reasonably priced. The low lag avis are available at the landing points throughout the Faire.

There are also two low-lag skins, Gilded Fae male and female, from Plastik, which are absolutely gorgeous and which can be had for a donation. I'm wearing the Gilded Fae Female in the picture above. It comes with appliers, hair, eyes, horns and a system skin. It doesn't have an ear applier, so if novelty ears are part of your look, tint some dark purple before TPing to the Faire and you can change into your new skin with relative ease. 

The necklace is Aziza from Bliensen+MaiTai. It matches the gilding perfectly. I couldn't resist!

You can click on a portal to visit the other sims, or you can walk. I circumnavigated the sims in about 6 hours without stopping to shop. I took a walk through the underwater world and to tell you the truth, I'm not sure whether these pictures were in the Junction, or another section because I was too busy looking at the sights to keep track of the sim designation,

A portion of the sales at Fantasy Faire go to RFL and 100% of the special vendors in each store go to fight cancer. What could be better than getting unique items while helping a good cause?

Windows on the World with Designer Showcase

Windows on the World is a memorial club dedicated to those who lost their lives in the 9/11 attacks. It is modeled on the Windows on the World club that was once on top of the north tower of the World Trade Center.

Formal attire is requested in the club. Though this dress from Purple Moon, available now @ Designer Showcase is more a cocktail dress than a gown, I felt quite comfortable dancing and taking in the view.

Designer Showcase for July

I made another visit to Designer Showcase and wanted to share a few items that haven't been featured much ~

This skin from ISBJ is absolutely gorgeous!
It's a beautiful dark golden brown and is shaded and highlighted perfectly.
The body suit from FurtaCor fits well and features really sexy cross lacing in the back.
I paired it with the KC Nenya heels which have a hud that allows you to color different sections of the shoes to match even a complex print like the suit perfectly.
The Tantalum necklace has a hud as well and looks great with both dressy and casual wear.
