The Light of Va'loth

This once regal land has fallen into disrepair. Nature is reclaiming once well-tended gardens and fine houses. A magnificent statue strides into the harbor brandishing a strong blue light in warding or perhaps bestowing a blessing towards the waters. 

What could have happened to make the residents leave this land? Where did they go? What secrets have the many statues in the town seen?
