The Children of Story

• The LitFest has become one of the major events @ Fantasy Faire. It's grown from being a few library nerds sharing stories early in the morning so as not to interfere with the important business of shopping and dancing (I was there. Sorry, but you know we were!) to a full roster of Readings, Region Tours and Discussions of not only the importance of literature, but how to improve individual writing or poetry.

• Take a glance at the schedule of events. You may be pleasantly surprised. I'm showing pictures of just a few of the LitFest presentations I've attended @ Fantasy Faire 2025.

• An amazing reading of Poe's works, including the Raven that literally sent shivers down my spine. Huw Carr weaves a world around his storytelling. This is not just a tale or two told; this is living characters brought to life, each with their own voice and dynamics.

• Dark Fairytales presented by Qim Toxx. These were not the Disney version!

• Featured Author, Genevieve Cogman, enticing us to enter her dark worlds. Aristocratic Vampires in Revolutionary France and an Invisible Library... what more could one ask for?

Fantasy Faire ~ "Other Activities"

• If you've been to Fantasy Faire and have only shopped or done the hunts, you've missed at least half the fun!

• There are hundreds of classes, performances, spontaneous dances and general bits of mayhem going on all over the Faire! You don't have to be a member of any particular group to attend. You can find out about many of them by checking HERE. Sometimes you just have to be at the right place at the right time.

• The goal of all these activities is to enhance your SL experience and, of course, to raise donations for the American Cancer Society.

• Sunday's silliness was a Flash Mob that took place in the Holi region. Okay, it was included on the schedule of events, so wasn't really a flash mob, but a lot of folks who attended hadn't seen it listed and just showed up to see what was happening.

• What was happening was that about 83 avatars of various shapes and sizes were celebrating life by dancing and setting off color bombs while wearing their most colorful looks and sharing dance accessories.

• It was fun, silly and made everybody who attended feel good. That's one of the best parts of living in Second Life and unfortunately, we all forget that occasionally because we're so caught up in doing really stressful things like building, selling, shopping and letting the negative vibes get to us.

• Thank you to whoever decided to have a belly dancing party in Holi. It was FUN!!!

Fantasy Faire ~ Mire of Whispers

• This mystic region is redolent of old magic. Built in the midst of a bogland, the buildings are stone decorated with strange glyphs and knotwork. To me, the shops feel like burial cairns, so you know they're full of secret treasures!

• Besides the cairns, there are standing stones and a mystical well that is rumored to be a gateway to the underworld. Though the whispering well gave me many bits of arcane wisdom, I didn't find my way to the underworld, so I guess I'll just take the legend with a grain of salt.

• I danced to the moon at Mire of Whispers and felt the powers invoked. The skin and outfit I'm showing are from Petrichor and are available @ the anchor shop next to the landing point.

Fantasy Faire 2025 ~ The Quest

• The Quest has begun! Read the backstory HERE.
• You will need a hud to participate in the hunt. Purchase your Quest Hud from the RFL kiosk at any official landing point. The Regular Hud can be purchased for a L$250 donation.

• The Deluxe Hud is available for a L$350 donation. It includes everything from the regular hud package as well as the complete outfits for male and female hunters shown here. The Deluxe Hud includes outfit sets for Humans, Tinies and Dinkies from Belle Epoque, Designs by Isaura and Totally Tinies.

• READ the INSTRUCTIONS, attach your hud and your helper (PAX, the white raven on my shoulder) and you're ready to Quest. The hud will provide hints and TPs as you go along.
• 100% of all L$ paid for the Quest Huds is donated to Relay for Life. The mountain of prizes for those who successfully complete the Quest is amazing!

Start your journey by finding the Bard Queen, who will explain the purpose of your mission. Good luck!

Fantasy Faire ~ Scrunkle Gultch

• Everybody wants to be a cat! If you are a SL cat of any size or even if you just like cats, you'll enjoy visiting Scrunkle Gultch at Fantasy Faire 2025.

• The SCRUNKLE GULCH region is a feline's favorite fantasy with cardboard buildings, cat walks, cat trees to climb, milk fountains and fish everywhere. 

• Dinkie wear of all styles is available as well as vehicles, furniture and pets for the busy Dinkie lifestyle. (BTW, unscripted Dinkie stuff like houses and decorative items work for Tinies as well.) Try DEMOS when available. 

Dinkie stuff ~ I'm wearing my standard purple Sealpoint Dinkie body.  If you don't already have a Dinkie, you can get one HERE.
