Do you know how to use your lighting to the best advantage?
The pictures below were done at the same time under the same conditions.
The only difference is that I toggled on Advanced Lighting (Preferences / graphics) for the one on the right.
Using Advanced lighting can change what you're seeing. It usually brings out a richness and sheen in "Materials". Sometimes it makes things look like they're made of plastic. Your lighting only affects what you see; it doesn't affect how others view your avatar.
