Have Destination Guide, Will Travel

Exploring SL can be a full-time hobby. Sometimes I go into the Destination Guide and start hopping from one location to another just to see what's there. 

Today my random touring method brought me to Bayside City West, a role play (XeoLife) and residential area with some interesting urban views perfect to use as the background for my outfit from Designer Showcase .

Butterflies are Free!

As the weather cools, birds aren't the only ones heading to warmer climes. Some varieties of butterflies migrate as well. Luckily for my fluttery friends, the Butterfly Conservatory is a nice warm place for non-migrating folks (like me!) to stay when the weather turns cold. 

It's in a lovely region with lots of PG seating for those who just want to explore or spend time together in a beautiful atmosphere.

The only difference is that I toggled on Advanced Lighting (Preferences / graphics) for the one on the right.

 

Using Advanced lighting can change what you're seeing. It usually brings out a richness and sheen in "Materials". Sometimes it makes things look like they're made of plastic.  Your lighting only affects what you see; it doesn't affect how others view your avatar.
