There is a wonderful virtual Mardi Gras event that my friends and I have attended every year for the last 7 years. The RL parade has been canceled this year, but you still have a great time in SL New Orleans.
You can stand along the street and wave at the floats as they go by or you can ride on the floats and become part of the magic! Just turn off your AO and sit on any of the floats and you will recieve any props or costume items associated with that particular float and be activated to dance, play an instrument, tumble or whatever the float requires.
While you're there, check out the rides at the amusement park, the clubs and the little shops along the street. Most of them have really well done scenerios and some have free goodies.
The parade ends at the end of Mardi Gras, which is Februay 16, so don't miss it!
