Who is your body?

The Glinka Gallery recently held a week of festivities to celebrate a publication anniversary for the owner and to introduce new exhibits. I attended a couple of the events, but there were too many people around to even attempt to take any pictures, so I returned this week to explore and to take the pictures for this blog.

"Gallery" is actually a misnomer because there are several galleries for visual and literary arts as well as performance areas and even a meeting room available to rent.

Wander around, touch the sculptures, read the poetry... it's a fascinating place!

Pretty Mama

It was time to take the baby to the beach. We've had a lot of fun splashing around in the wading pool, but it was time to let him experience wet sand and the scent of the ocean.

We picked a quiet area in the late afternoon so most of the other people had gone home.

I slathered him in sun block and kept his hooded towel on him as much as possible. He seemed to enjoy the sights and sounds, though he really didn't like sand in his diaper! When he got sleepy I sent him and daddy back to the room so I could have some private beach time.

It was the first time in a long time I'd felt really sexy. I may be a mother, but I'm still me!

Wasted Youth

A wasted youth is better by far than a wise and reflective old age ~ Meatloaf

Remember video arcades? There was always a slightly sordid and disreputable feeling about sitting in the dark and watching the colored markers move around the screen as the machine beeped and buzzed happily. Video arcades have become a rarity since every tv and phone provides a variety of video games. I'm not sure whether we should be glad or sad about that. Returning to a former hangout brought a feeling of nostalgia that I hadn't expected.

For those times when you just want to be comfortable while still looking good, this casual outfit from AnaStyle comes with top and shorts sold separately, in a fat pack, or as the set shown here which includes one top, one pair of shorts and the shoes. This is just one of the EXCLUSIVES to be found at this month's Designer Showcase*.

I paired it with items from a couple of my favorite designers who are participating @ the Attic Event till August 22. My earrings are from Mini A Chuu and my nails are from Mani Pedi, whose shops just happen to be neighbors at the event .

Chuu's new earrings come with a user-friendly hud to change metals, crystals and beads. She had me testing them for her as she perfected them, so I'm happy to tell you they are beautiful and really will go with everything! The small rotating crystals you'll see in the display are resized examples of the Crystal of Adxina, which can be used as a photo prop, a meditation tool, or just as a really cool decoration on your sim. The Swotusmatiz Stronghold (aka: gingerbread castle) in the display is a unique tabletop gaming item. Read the description carefully ~ there's a lot of stuff included!

The Mani Pedi display features several of the latest releases from both the Nailz and the LSD Couture sections of the store. I use Mani Pedi frequently in my blogs and did a blog on the newest featured items HERE.
