Dock in the Bay

I stopped by the fishing dock @ Ravenwold where my friends were enjoying a fishing contest. 
If you've never been 7 Seas fishing, you've missed out on a SL tradition. 
You purchase fishing equipment, which can be as simple as a pole or as complicated as a motor boat, fish in designated areas and win prizes if you're lucky.
You're just as likely to pull up old tires and parts of swimsuits as you are to catch fish. It's a fun way to while away an afternoon.

One of the things I love most about SL is that all kinds of interests can be indulged in very unusual ways. 
Case in point:  Every year, a dedicated group of ... dare I say it?... weirdos spend months creating a horrible, frightening, wonderfully bizarre festival to celebrate their favorite author: H.P.Lovecraft 

H. P. Lovecraft was born in 1890 in Providence, Rhode Island, where he lived most of his life. Weekend of August 10

What are you planning to do this weekend? It's still too hot to spend much time outside in RL. Here are some of the fantasy SL events you might enjoy:

Fable 3 ~ ends August 26 
Theme is "Once upon a time". Mostly clothing and accessories. Sales items, EXCLUSIVES, and gachas. Gacha Life is running concurrently within walking distance.

Fantasy Gacha ~ August 7- Sept 7
Not as large as usual, but still some fascinating gachas for Fae, RPers and Adventurers.

Mermaid Cove ~ ends August 13
If you haven't visited this one, swim on over there before it closes! For a first-time event, it's very well done. It's hard to find interesting Mer merchandise and this one has everything you need to enrich your ocean experience in one place ~ tails, fins, jewelry, skins... and lots of bikinis! There is a hunt. Clues are given in local chat, which is kind of annoying, but I'm sure that will improve in the future.

[QE] Designs for August

[QE] Designs offers some nice new items for both your home and your wardrobe. 

The So-Deer rugs, pillows and wall tapestry are available in the Main store. The tapestry, circular rug and double pillows are on sale for Syndicate Sunday, which technically is the first Sunday of each month, but [QE] weekend sales items are usually available for a week or so... 
The accent rug and single pillow are the prize for the Raise the Roof Hunt which you can find in the store. Each So-Deer item has its own internal texture hud so that you can mix and match them to your heart's content. I'm showing just a few of the possibilities here.

My dress can be found in the [QE] shop at Fable 3. Olympia is available in 8 rich brocade textures sold separately or in a fatpack. Each of the shops at Fable also offers a L$10 special, discounts and some gachas. Fable ends August 26.
