What the Dickens?

The Dickens Project presented by the Seanchai Library And sponsored by Linden Labs is open!
This immersive multi-region homage to Charles Dickens and Victorian England is beautifully landscaped and offers activities that are different from the usual SL fare.

Learn more about the world of Charles Dickens and visit many of the locations from his stories.
Travel back to Victorian Christmastime for unique sights and sounds.
Take a ride in the coach pulled by Bay Rum Royal, the patient horse that travels throughout the event.
Skate, dance and socialize. This isn't RP, it's atmospheric.

Feel as though you are part of A Christmas Carol by attending one of the guided tours that present a full reading of the story, or if you can't work a story session into your schedule, pick up one of the personal audio huds that guide you through. You'll find them at the greeting area and at various locations throughout the regions.

If you'd like to get into the spirit of the thing without making a huge investment in costuming, visit Tavistock Taylors and pick one or two of the free outfits available there.

And of course, there is a hot fire and seafood snacks to welcome you to the Innsmouth House down by the waterfront. You'll find Fuzzbutt on the front porch. This furry Elder God has been a part of Dickens Project for the last 8 years.

Art and Imagination

Glinka Gallery opened 2 new exhibits this week. The works include RL photos and original poetry by Wolfgang Glinka. The newest collection is entitled Black Horse.
I used Wolfie's gallery as the background for my pictures today.

Boho Beauty

One of the best things about shopping @ Designer Showcase is the wide variety of styles in each monthly collection. Whether you prefer classic lines, concept looks or beautiful boho styles, you'll probably find something to love in the November collection.

Luna Chelsea offers 2 versions of the Contessa Outfit: one with rich satin colors and the other with Boho and animal prints. The shawl-style top has elaborate knotting at the waist. The Boho style features a bunch of gold flowers worked into the knot. Each version comes with a huge hud of texture choices to mix and match.*
Once again, I'm showing the Dark Botanical Nails from Cazimi.* I really like the colors of these nails and have featured them on several blogs this month.

Creative Chaos

Myth and magick aren't relegated to the month of October.
The November round of Designer Showcase includes magical goodies of all sorts.

Today's outfit from Anastyle is called Tiamat * after the pre-Babylonian goddess of chaos and creation.

The dress comes in 6 dark shades with a gold print featuring pentacles, cats, potion bottles and other arcane symbols. I'm showing the black edition.

The Gothic jewelry includes an antique gold and ruby Crown, Choker and Earrings, which can also be purchased separately.

Nails are Dark Botanicals from Cazimi. Can be worn with Cazimi mesh base nails or with your mesh body's default nails [10 dark colors] *
