Square1: Supernatural ~ Dia de los Meurtos

As a blogger, I often get excited about the designs that come my way to share with you, but I have never had the reaction I had when I opened the box from IrISIStible this month. My mouth fell open and I let out a squeal of delight!

I love all things to do with autumn, but my very favorite holiday is one which many outside Mexico and the US desert southwest don't really understand. Dia de los Muertos is a celebration of those who have gone before us, and one of the main features of the holiday is skeletons. However, far from being a scary, horror-fest like the US's Halloween, Dia de los Muertos is a celebration of LIFE.

The skeletons represent the brevity of life, but they play games, they eat and drink their favorite foods, they dance, sing, make love and visit with their relatives. They remind us to enjoy life while we can, because there's no guarantee that we will live to see another day.
